Pretty or Practical
I am so achy today. Head, shoulders, knees... ok maybe not the toes. I think the logical mind wants to find a connection between each issue and attribute it all to one thing. I know that it's possible that there are several things going on. The shoulder pain could be from how I slept. The headache maybe from getting used to these new, higher strength (reading) multi-focal contact lenses that I'm trying out. The knee pain? Probably from wearing shoes that lack support.
I showed the student my new Uggs. I finally got myself a pair of these slipper Uggs that I see high school kids wear a lot. I asked her, why do people wear these to school? They're comfortable enough and definitely cute, but they leave much to be desired in terms of practicality. Her take? People were them because they look nice. End of story. I had hoped that they would be a great winter replacement for the Crocs that I generally wear to school drop off and pick up but I find myself preferring the Crocs. Considering how much they cost, this is a sad, sad thing.
I went to the store asking to try several styles and the associate who helped me brought out several different ones, just not in the color family that I'd hoped. She tried to be helpful, and offer advice, but I said to her, I have other pairs. I was just bent on getting one that was pink and a slipper. When asked if I wanted to wear them outside, I said yes, but mainly just for driving. So I returned the question, "Can I wear these outside?" She said yes. I get it. They look good, but they're slippers. Going to great lengths to find the one pair that would tick all the boxes, there was no way I was not going to buy them. But yeah, not a practical purchase.
