Late night, late morning
My husband reminded me that he was likely going to terminate the Peacock streaming subscription so I spent the night watching All Her Fault. He insisted I had some time but I wanted to get as many episodes in as I could, in case I didn't have time the next day or the day after that. I stopped with one episode to go. It was a good mystery, slow reveals in a highly dysfunctional family where virtually everyone was lying about something. The most ironic ending would be if the main character, Marissa, actually had the worst secret of all. At the moment, she's the only one who hasn't been caught in a terrible lie. Also refreshing is Dakota Fanning, now in her 30s and ever relatable in her portrayal of a working mom caught in the midst of the abduction drama.
I find myself once again ever so thankful that I had the opportunity to stay home when my kids were really little. I am also really grateful that my husband has no problem sharing in child or home responsibilities. But most of all, I'm so glad that my children are grown because those early years are tough.
Because I was up until past 3AM, I felt that I was totally justified not coming out of my room until after 10. The smell of bacon was what drew me to the kitchen and unexpectedly, everyone came to breakfast at the same time. I can't wait for the student to come home for Thanksgiving so we can be complete at the table.
Today I met another guitar teacher and I officially signed up for the lessons. I realize that finding a teacher who is closer in age to me makes more sense. He recognizes the songs that interest me and he is able to replicate what he hears so I trust I'm in the hands of a real pro. He was quite impressive. I appreciate his calm demeanor and he offered many useful suggestions. The actual paid lesson won't start until after Thanksgiving but I'm excited to take what I've already learned and put it all into practice. I think having access to the different instruments while taking lessons is a big plus. If only for that, I think going to Guitar Center was a great idea. Today I grabbed one of the $2,000 Gibsons for a lesson and afterwards, I went back into the acoustic room to play with the less expensive Martins. I am still fascinated by them.
| Hello, Martin. |
After I left Guitar Center, my new favorite hangout hahaha, I went to Corropolese Bakery. They were all out of tomato pie, sadly, but I picked up one of the veggie pies. It's got the same bread but it's a white pie, with vegetables as toppings. My husband really enjoyed it. Coupled with the Italian hoagie and a bottle of Bartenura Moscato D'Asti (there's a wine and spirits next door), it made for a pretty decent lunch/dinner. I also brought home a ham and cheese stromboli for my daughter and some ravioli with meatballs. Will be saving that for tomorrow.
