breakfast galore

Pamela's Diner in Pittsburgh

We took the student back to school yesterday and had a nice lunch at Pamela's. We ordered breakfast items, of course. All the food was ok. I can't say I was terribly impressed by the interior. It was old, with some kitschy game board on the walls decorations but the worst part was the terrible acoustics. It was awfully loud in there. Carrying on a conversation? Prepare to project (speak louder) but also, be ready for the next two or three tables to hear everything you're saying. The menu selection seemed to me the typical stuff and the only thing that jumped out at me was chorizo, which isn't something I see often. I ordered a western omelet and of course, I needed a side of those chorizo patties.

Today, we basically stayed home and I did lots of laundry. In an effort to not have to cook anything, my husband stepped to buy breakfast sandwiches from Wawa. Their croissants had some weird bread and everything was greasy. Of course, I could say the exact same thing about yesterday's lunch at Pamela's. All greasy. Lunch wasn't as greasy, an Italian hoagie from Corropolese and some tomato pie, which is still the best tomato pie compared to all tomato pies ever. Upon discovering some smoked salmon still in fridge, and 3 bagels on the counter, I asked the family if breakfast for dinner was ok. It was. While eating, I asked my younger daughter what her top 3 favorite breakfast items were. She said: 1) SPAM with fried rice, 2) a bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant, and finally, 3) a bagel with cream cheese and salmon. Yeah, I like all these things too. But my list would be completely different and will have conditions. I'll let you know tomorrow.
