Bit-o-achy
It's Community Day today in Pikmin Bloom so the goal is to get 10,000 steps in and bloom flowers to amp up our supply of much-needed flowers. My husband has come around and we're happily playing together again. All it took was the removal of all the "friends" he acquired over a few weeks of playing, leaving just myself and the kids on the list. I guess people play in different ways. It's ok.
I don't know if I'm just old and out of shape but I am achy now. The aches are mostly in my right heel, and middle finger of the right hand (probably nothing to do with walking) but in general, I'm tired. I asked my husband, "Is this what it's like, training for a marathon?" He says, "Sure." He ran the New York marathon once. Did not ever do it again.
We're just about ready for dinner prep and we're making shrimp with broccoli tonight. My daughter will probably have a salad with chicken. There's no dessert on hand but jars of candy sit before me. There's the one large jar leftover from Halloween. I bought the candy but forgot to leave the jar outside for the kids. We left and dropped off my daughter at her friend's house and they went trick-or-treating over there. Our doorbell camera shows two kids came by our house. I feel bad because I could have pre-packaged the candy and left them at the door. I know the kids too, so I feel especially sad. I need to be better-prepared next year.
I have this cute clear pumpkin jar which has taffy and caramel creams. We've been buying the supply at Five Below. On our last trip in there, I heard them playing a familiar song, with the familiar voice of Whitney Houston but Higher Love? For real? I did not know that this version existed. Whitney sounded amazing and the song is as good as ever. A quick look up on my phone shows, there is indeed a Whitney version, several in fact. The 1990 version didn't get a lot of attention but apparently there is a 2019 remix, which is probably what we were listening to.
I really like the flavor of Bit O Honey, something introduced to me via a small bag in my one and only order from Sweetwater. I got my daughter a viola rest from them. But this has started a habit around here and I don't want us rotting our teeth because of this. Once this batch is gone, it will be time to put away the jar and tell my husband to stop buying the candy.
Playlist Recommendation: Higher Love, Steve Winwood
